Most Weight loss tips are hard to do for a long period of time, and result in gaining weight back that you worked hard to lose. It took me several years to learn how to lose weight in a week through yo-yo dieting. What I finally learned is that the only way to permanently lose weight is to change your habits. Do the same thing over and over, and you should expect the same results. Only when you change something permaanently, will permanent change occurr. Do not be scared off though, for I will offer a few easy habits which you can use to change your weight and life.
Before we delve into the tips, I would like to make you aware of a very important phenomenon called the twenty minute rule. The twenty minute rule simply states that it will take your body at least twenty minutes before it can feel full. This means that if I can eat a pizza in ten minutes, I could eat two pizzas in twenty minutes before feeling full. I have done this on several occasions for performance related weight gain, and it works. Normally, I can only eat a few pieces of pizza, but if I eat quickly, I can eat one and a half to two full pizzas in twenty minutes, and my jaw is tired afterwards.
Now, you are not interested in weight gain, so how can this be used for weight loss? Well, if you are in a hurry, the amount you eat really does not matter. You will not feel full until twenty minutes have passed. So instead of trying to eat a bunch to feel full quickly (it will not work as illustrated above), instead eat fifteen percent less than you normally would, and stop there.
If you are not in a hurry, take time to chew your food well and eat slowly. This has many health benefits which I do not have time to outline, but it is great for you; the Europeans are onto something. Also, before going up for seconds, be sure to check your watch to ensure twenty minutes have passed. You may change your mind on portion size for seconds if you give your body some time to digest. Fewer calories means more weight loss.
