How I Lost 14 Pounds Without Even Trying and So Can You

If you are trying to lose 10 or 20 pounds, here is a story how I did it without even trying.

At the time it happened I was not extremely overweight, I certainly wouldn’t qualify for the Biggest Loser, if you know what I mean.

But I was carrying those last extra 10+ pounds that are so annoying and hard to shed and I was searching – without much success – a way to lose weight without much effort.

I was also feeling very unhealthy. The whole winter I was getting constantly sick with one cold after another. In the fall and spring, for the first time in my life I started suffering from seasonal allergies.

I had skin breakouts, low energy and several other issues that may not sound life-threatening, but had certainly made my life miserable. I had been looking for help, reading various books and online resources, trying different things.

I started to think about fasting, when I stumbled upon a book about raw foods and cleansing. I decided to just go for it. It was spring time. Looking through the window I could see beautiful sunshine, but I was feeling awful. I decided that was it.

One day I just stopped drinking coffee, eating all processed foods, meats, dairy, etc. and started making fresh juice in the morning, ate mostly raw fruits and vegetables, and drank lots of water. For the first two days I felt even worse, so I stayed in bed most of the time. I had a terrible headache, which I think was the result of caffeine withdrawal. In fact my whole body was aching, but I continued this regimen for seven more days.

The result? I finally started to feel great. I felt lighter and more energetic, and I lost 14 pounds in the process! Turns out cutting out all processed foods and just sticking to raw plant food mainly fruits, vegetables, and greens is a great way not just to restore your health, but to lose weight quickly. Raw foods are excellent for weight loss because they are low on calories but very high on fiber and other nutrients. This means you can eat as much of them as you like, and as often as you like and you will still lose weight.

As on any diet you will experience unpleasant side effects. If you are not prepared to take a break for a few days from your busy life, then perhaps you should start more slowly. Just start adding raw foods to your diet every day, green juices and smoothies, and increasing the percentage until you reach about 70-80 percent of calories from raw foods. Eating this way will help you lose weight, restore better health, and get more energy. Plus it’s a diet that is super healthy and easy to stick to long term.
